Accessibility statement

How we make travel and this website work for everyone — and where we're not there yet.

Last updated 1 September 2026

Ride2 is a demonstration project, not a real company. This page shows how we'd run things if we were.

1.On our coaches

  • Every coach has a wheelchair lift and a wheelchair space you can book online at no extra cost.
  • Priority seats near the door, with extra legroom, for anyone who needs them.
  • Next-stop announcements on screen and out loud.
  • Assistance dogs are always welcome.
  • Drivers are trained in disability awareness and in using the lift, and will give you the time you need.

2.At our stops

Every stop page tells you whether the stop is step-free, sheltered, lit and has seating or a live display, and how to find the exact stance. Some rural stops are simple roadside poles; we say so honestly, so you can plan.

3.This website

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. You should be able to use everything with a keyboard, zoom to 400% without losing content, and use a screen reader. Live information — countdowns, departure boards and status changes — is announced politely to screen readers without interrupting you.

Known issues. Maps are visual, so we always give a text alternative next to them: stop lists, departure boards and a list view of coaches. Some older pages may have colour contrast or labelling gaps; we're working through them.

4.Getting help or telling us about a problem

If something on a coach, at a stop or on this website doesn't work for you, please tell us. We'll reply within one working day, and if you need information in a different format, we'll provide it. If you're not happy with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
